Since a lot of you are going through the finals crunch (its weird to not being going through it myself, but amazingly relaxing at the same time), I thought 'Well, what did l need during this time besides energy drinks, to not have the wish for someone to come write my papers for me, and a shot of whiskey?"

what should i get my friend for christmas/her birthday. she's really been great to me this entirely rough year. i was going to get her tickets to a concert, but they were sold out. she says she wants shoes, but then theres that whole 'i don't know what size you are so i'll ballpark it, and if they don't fit right you have to be like "well i can return them if you want" and i dont want to go through that. so what i'm asking is. what should i get a 17 year old girl for christmas? |

so i know it's lame to come here for homework help, but i'm desperate. i have a 5 page paper due at midnight about a black resister to the fight against racism and a white ally who also helped fight against racism for black people. i'm clueless as to who to use for the white person. it has to be someone that did something before the 1970s, and someone that isn't usually taught about in textbooks. the good thing is though, the black and white person do not have to be linked to each other in any way. thank you so much in advance. :)
if you don't know how to help me, then when's your winter break start? mine starts thursday as soon as i hand in a paper (that will be the death of me) between 10:30 and 12:30. |

so recently, i've noticed a lot of people have used the term all-nighter and i want to know, what do you think an all-nighter is?
i've seen people use it as "stay up all night, not sleep at all," some people use it as "stay up really late, get very little sleep."
ps - my room mate just hassled me for putting new hand soap in the bathroom because it doesn't fit with her christmas decor. the one she's using has cranberry extract in it, i'm allergic, and when i pointed this out, she asked why i couldn't have at least gotten a red soap. |

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're sick?
I've been sick for three days, and I feel like I'm dieing. My 21st bday was yesterday, and I barely even made it through dinner. =/ I just can't keep down foods or liquids, I have a fever, can't sleep, have stomach cramps, and am generally achey.
I'm pregnant though, and can't take a lot of cold medications, so give me suggestions that don't involve chemicals entering my body! (I know, I should go to the DR if I'm sick and prego, but I don't have health insurance right now). |

we've had posts asking what you're giving people for xmas, but what do you really hope you get?
i just saw an anti smoking commercial that said "you don't drink every time you smoke, so why smoke every time you drink? drinking and smoking don't go together" or something like that. haha i never thought about it that way |

this is such a rain-on-your-parade comment, but does anyone else think that most christmas trees are just incredibly ugly?
like i think trees like this are hideous but i know they must have ornaments that mean a lot to people, but this isn't awful |

this may be a stretch but for any of you that posted on GJ there was a girl with a quote on her journal that said something about being nice to people, it was saying like the woman that cuts you off is working two jobs and is rushing home to her kids and the scenester college student who can't make correct change is worried about finals
